Overview:
Chicago’s very own Rib Festival has become not only a favorite destination for Chicagoans, but it’s also an important destination for some of the nation’s best ‘Ribbers’. These award winning rib experts come from all over the country to participate in the event. Their presence continually ups the ante for the events’ great barbecue offerings- and assures that visitors will taste some of the most succulent meat and greatest sauces and flavors on the continent.
More than a dozen top Ribbers will participate in the event and compete for the Windy City Rib Fests’ Best Ribs and Best Sauce awards.
Of course, all of this great barbecue is for sale to the public along with a huge variety of sides ranging from tangy or sweet coleslaw, spicy or plain cornbread, baked beans, corn on the cob, and much, much more. All of this delicious food is reasonably priced- and, of course there is plenty of ice cold beer and/ or wine available to wash it all down.
Although barbecue is the star of this show, the Windy City Rib Fest has a Mainstage lineup featuring some of the hottest local and national rock/pop and classic indie acts as well as local tribute bands. In just five years, the Windy City Rib Fest has already distinguished itself for it’s high quality Mainstage entertainment.
To attract families, and to lengthen the average visitor stay, The Windy City Rib Fest has an elaborate Kids Zone- an activity area for kids designed to keep them entertained for hours.
In summary- The Windy City Rib Fest in Uptown is on track to become one of the top ranked and best attended family festivals in the Midwest.
