Overview:

One of the largest and longest running Pride Parade’s in the world, Chicago Pride Parade was first organized in 1970.

Fifty-three years ago, the event bore almost no resemblance to what it is today. The size and scope of Chicago Pride Parade has grown from its original first year crowd of 150 to a crowd of more than 1M.  

As is most everything Pride-related in Chicago, the Parade is extremely well organized, and yet retains all the spontaneity and creativity that a joyous celebration like this can offer. Chicagoans LOVE this Parade- and it shows. The streets on the Parade route are packed hours before kick-off, and after-parties and post Parade celebrations are plentiful.  Our whole city lights up on Pride Parade Day!
