It seems as if practically this whole community of middle class and upper middle class families comes out for this magical day and night in one of the most elegant and beautiful settings in all of Chicago. Mayor Emanuel and Governor Quinn are both regular attendees along with many other of Chicago’s movers and shakers who come out for this community’s hallmark event.
The Venue:
The South Shore Cultural Club, built in 1916 as a country club for Chicago’s elite, is one of Chicago’s most beautiful and elegant venues. Offering a wealth of culturally rich programs to the community, this grand, elegant club house cum cultural center sits on 67 acres on Chicago’s south shore lakefront. These 67 acres feature beautifully landscaped European style gardens and lawns, a nine hole golf course, a pool, beach front & board walk, a nature sanctuary and more.
