Overview:
Early in the morning on October 5, 2019, more than 10,000 people, united for a single cause, will gather at Chicago’s lakefront to leave their mark by participating in the City’s largest outdoor AIDS fundraising event: AIDS Run & Walk Chicago.
This ethnically and socially diverse crowd has one thing in common -they are committed to erradicate AIDS.
Since its inception, AIDS Run & Walk Chicago has raised over $3.5 million net for HIV/AIDS programs and services throughout the Chicago area, and has grown to become one of this city’s most important AIDS fundraisers.
About the AIDS Foundation of Chicago:
AFC brings together service providers and funders to develop systems that meet the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS and to maximize the use of scarce resources. AFC manages more than $17 million in local, state, and federal funds for an array of AIDS-related services. By assisting government entities in planning, distributing, and monitoring service contracts, AFC helps develop provider expertise and promotes uniform and high-quality delivery across the region.
Until there is a vaccine and a cure, comprehensive HIV prevention services remain the best weapon in the fight agains HIV/AIDS. The AIDS Foundation of Chicago is committed to working with policymakers and service providers to increase funding for prevention services and programs that work.
