Overview:
For three days in early August, Jefferson Park, one of Chicago’s oldest and largest neighborhoods, puts on a festival to rival any in the Chicagoland area.
This culture-rich, solid middle class community welcomes visitors from all over Chicagoland to enjoy three days of art, theater performances, music including big name rock and roll bands, family activities, great food, wine and cold beer.
The uniqueness of Jeff Fest is fueled by the community’s long tradition of visual and performing arts. Highlights of the festival can include afternoon performances by the local theater groups from The Gift Theater and Jefferson Playhouse. Each night, the Mainstage is headlined by a top name ,cutting edge rock & roll band.
An especially unique component of Jeff Fest has been the exhibition of juried fine art photography. Attendees are invited to browse through a huge tent of high quality art photography and vote for the top three Peoples Choice winners.
Living up to its reputation as a family community, Jefferson Park’s Jeff Fest puts on a fantastic lineup of children’s entertainment that all takes place in the ‘Kid’s Zone’. In addition to art activities, inflatables, and local entertainment on the Summer Stage, a very popular feature of Kid’s Zone is the Drum Circle. Kids and adults are invited to form a big circle and create a rhythmical, musical experience using percussion instruments.
The Food Court’s wide variety of food from local restaurants and festival vendors ensures that there is something delicious to suit every palette.
All of Jeff Fest’s unique components reflect the area’s culture -rich tradition, and explains why this event is packed from the moment it opens until the last notes are played by the last headlining band.
