Overview:

More than 70,000 art lovers will descend upon Wells Street the weekend of June 9-10  to celebrate the 49th annual Wells Street Art Festival, the largest fine arts fair in the Midwest. This prestigious festival has become an iconic “start of summer” cultural event for thousands of Chicagoans, many of whom have attended each year for decades.

Recognized for years as one of Chicago’s premier art fairs, the Wells Street has such a stellar reputation that it is ranked among the Top 10 art fests in the country by Sunshine Artist magazine. The Illinois Federation of Festivals has also named Wells Street Art Festival as Chicago’s “Best Community Festival.”  And the National Body of Art Festivals bestowed the same honor.

Held in the center of the city’s historic Old Town neighborhood, Wells Street Art Festival will typically feature approximately 250 fine art exhibitors. 

It’s not, however, just art that draws the crowd.  The event features at least twenty-five food and drink vendors, continuous live music and national, top name headliners each night from the Mainstage, and a huge silent auction.
