Overview:
Lured by a killer live music lineup and the promise of a wide and unique variety of burgers, Chicagoans descend upon Roscoe Village in droves. As archived tweets, yelps and published reviews tell the story- at its debut, Burger Fest was an instant smash hit- rocketing to the top of Chicago’s list of favorite street festivals.
As many as a dozen of Chicago’s top burger restaurants participate in the event- each offering two or three of their finest burger selections. Visitors choose from a wide variety of high-quality burgers, among them: Cajun, barbecue, bacon & egg, goat cheese, hormone-free all-natural beef, turkey, chicken, veggie, and many, many more of the most imaginative and delectable concoctions ever conceived.
All of the chefs compete officially for the Annual Best Burger Award- while they unofficially compete for ‘most creative burger concoction’. All of this competition spawns some truly great results- and this food-loving crowd is appreciative in the extreme.
The big selection of high-quality sides such as best-in-class onion rings, hand cut fries, cheese curds, and many more play a secondary, but very important role in visitor ‘culinary satisfaction’. All of this delicious food is rounded off by cold beer and wine.
Burger Fest has already established a reputation for it’s five-star, high quality music line up, and each year the bar for quality entertainment will be raised. Past music headliners have included Foghat, Smithereens, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, 10,000 Maniacs, Todd Carey, Gin-Blossoms, Scott Lucas and Married Men, Van Ghost, Rusted Root, Liquid Soul, Trippin’ Billies , Cracker, Kongos and Freddie Jones Band.
The event is marketed via traditional print and broadcast, Internet, E-newsletters, and an extensive Social Media campaign.
