Overview:

Chinatown Summer Fair is one of the oldest and most unique outdoor festivals in Chicago. 

Now going into its 45th year, Chinatown Summer Fair is a true celebration of the beauty, depth and mystery of this ancient culture: its food, art and music. 

Chinatown Summer Fair can best be described as a melding of the old and the new.  Visitors experience an exotic traditional Lion Dance/Procession, Asian dance and music, demonstrations of ancient martial arts as well as more contemporary music that includes rock, jazz, blues and oldies performed by local and regional bands. 

The fair also features an array of arts and crafts vendors, a wide variety of authentic Chinese food from award-winning neighborhood restaurants, a local Chinese-American Children’s Museum, a petting zoo, pony rides,  children’s dance demonstrations, a ‘cutest baby’ contest and more. 

Visitors leave the festival with the feeling that they have visited another world–a world that melds ancient and modern Chinese cultures- East meets West.
