One of Chicago's largest and most popular summer celebrations, the Taste of Lincoln Avenue will be celebrating its 33rd year in 2016.
The event takes place over six city blocks on a major street in the heart of the upscale Lincoln Park neighborhood where high home values (average $700,000) meet the DePaul University population. The area is the home of Chicago's original club scene and many of Chicago's oldest and favorite restaurants.
Taste of Lincoln Avenue began as a small neighborhood fundraiser and has grown to become the second largest street festival in the region. The event features 350 vendors and more than 35 acts on five music stages. Every music genre is represented: from blues and country to rock and folk. Some of the artists who have recently performed at Taste Of Lincoln Avenue include: Train, Blue Oyster Cult, Buckwheat Zydeco, Colin Hay, Cracker, Dickey Betts, Cowboy Mouth, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, Will Hoge, Willy Porter, Young Dubliners, Verve Pipe, 10,000 Maniacs, Indigenous, Wishbone Ash, Bob Mould.
The event draws an upscale, educated audience of white collar professionals, singles and families.
A major component of Taste of Lincoln is the Lill Street Art Fair- an art fair within a festival that is jam-packed with unique, one-of-a-kind merchandise and art works.
The event also features a popular one-block children's area with entertainment, carnival rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and much more.
