Background:

Every year, in mid-July, Chicago's vibrant Columbian population celebrates their independence from Spain- at an extravagant two day festival. The event has grown so popular that it has become a destination not only for the regions' Columbian population, but for the rest of Chicago as well. An estimated 30,000 people will descend upon Chicago's Copernicus Center, and surrounding streets to experience real cultural immersion: authentic Columbian food, art, crafts, and music. Festival Columbiano is the largest gathering of Columbians in the Midwest.

This is the ultimate family event offering entertainment for every age of the extended family including a well designed, elaborate Kid's Zone with wall-climbing, games, clowns, and other fun components to keep kids engaged and entertained. For adults there is a custom car and bike show, continuous live and DJ's music, International music headliners, a dance area and more.

The warmth and welcome by Chicago's Columbian population is strongly felt at this colorful festival as the rest of Chicago comes to experience this culture.
